Introduction To Good Clinical Practice – May 2017.

Whilst working as a Research Assistant for Glasgow Caledonian University I was given the opportunity to complete an introductory course in good clinical practice. This course outlined the importance of the numerous ethical considerations whilst undertaking work in all forms of psychological research.

Managing Challenging Behaviour Certificate – February 2016.

I was awarded a certificate in managing challenging behaviour from First Response Training whilst working as an Assistant Psychologist for The Huntercombe Group. This course outlined the requirements and most effective practice to implement when working with challenging behaviour from individuals of all ages and difficulties.

Transactional Analysis Foundation Year – July 2014-July 2015.

I obtained this qualification with Physis Edinburgh. The course required a large amount of in-depth study into the therapeutic modality of Transactional Analysis enhancing my advanced empathy, active listening skills and my ability to communicate.

Training The Trainer Course – August 2014.

This was a qualification I obtained whilst working with The Spark. It gave me the expertise to conduct group sessions with individuals who were seeking to achieve qualifications such as the Mental Health First Aid course.

Transactional Analysis 101 Course – August 2015.

This was an introductory course to Transactional Analysis prior to my Foundation Year in this modality of counselling.

SafeTalk NHS Suicide Alertness Training Course – July 2014.

While working at Ceridian I completed this training to further understand the skills required to talk to individuals dealing with suicidal thoughts.

Online & Helpline Counselling Course – April 2014-June 2014.

Whilst working at The Spark as a Youth Development Worker I completed this training to equip me with the skills to effectively conduct therapeutic counselling sessions on the helpline and via web chat.

Relationship First Aid – June 2014.

I conducted this training in order to effectively manage individuals calling our helpline at The Spark that were facing relationship difficulties.

Mental Health First Aid (NHS Accredited) – June 2014.

An NHS accredited course I completed to better understand the difficulties people with mental health face on a daily basis. It also gave me the knowledge of how to effectively transact with individuals with mental health difficulties in a therapeutic setting.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming Therapy Training Course – November 2013-February 2014.

I was given the opportunity to conduct a training course in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) therapy through my work at The Spark Glasgow. I was recognised as an accredited NLP practitioner through the American Board of NLP after completing the course.

COSCA Counselling Skills Course – February 2013-October 2013.

The COSCA Counselling Skills Course was a year-long introduction to the field of counselling. I obtained a great deal of experience, knowledge and understanding not only about counselling but also about how best to relate and work with others. I also developed my advanced empathy and active listening skills in this course as I conducted a great deal of practical exercise in a therapeutic setting.

Place2Be Child & Adolescent Counselling Training Course – July 2012.

This qualification gave me the ability and knowledge of working in a therapeutic manner with young people. I was introduced to the foundations of what it meant to counsel young people and how best to relate to them.

East Renfrewshire Advocacy Training Course – October 2010-March 2011.

I undertook this course in order to conduct some voluntary work with East Renfrewshire Council with individuals with additional support needs.
